Washington: The United States has threatened the Taliban with retaliation if they do not stop the violence.
Col. Sonny Leggett, a spokesman for US forces in Afghanistan, wrote a letter to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, threatening retaliation, according to the foreign news agency.
According to the text of the letter, Col. Sonny Leggett wrote that all parties must show restraint to prevent further bloodshed and that they will be forced to respond if the violence does not subside.
The U.S. military spokesman said all sides should return to a political solution and that Afghans should sit down and talk about Afghanistan's future.
