Peshawar blast injures 3, including 2 policemen
May 11, 2020: Three people, including two policemen, were injured in an explosion on Ashraf Road in Peshawar. As soon as the blast was reported, security forces cordoned off the area, after which police and bomb disposal personnel rushed to the spot. In this regard, the police officials said that 2 kg of improvised explosive device was used in the blast which was installed in the motorcycle.
It was further stated that it was a remote controlled explosion, so it was not estimated. Police have sealed off the entire area and are investigating, while more evidence is being gathered from the site of the blast. The injured include two policemen who are being shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.
It is reported that the blast took place at Rampura Gate, a commercial center of Peshawar city.
It may be recalled that there was a lockdown due to Corona virus for more than a month after which the government had given permission to open business centers from today. But as soon as it was time to open business centers on Ashraf Road in Peshawar after permission was granted, an explosion took place there. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of mourners.
