The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has fired First Secretary Waqar Ahmed, stationed in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, immediately after he was found guilty of sexual harassment.

Foreign Ministry sources confirmed to the the statement circulating on social media, which contained allegations against Waqar Ahmed and dismissal orders.

The statement issued by the Foreign Ministry has a date of May 5 and is signed by the director of the department, Asif Khan.

According to sources in the Foreign Ministry, a local official working at the Pakistani embassy in Kiev made allegations of sexual harassment against First Secretary Waqar Ahmed and also presented evidence.

 It was reported that Waqar Ahmed had been under investigation for some time after which it was decided to dismiss him.

Foreign Ministry sources added that Waqar Ahmed had been accused of breach of discipline in the past when he was stationed at the embassy of another European country. The nature of the allegations was financial corruption.
